Rachel Tidd | Rachel Tidd Counselling, Cranbrook and Tenterden.

About Me

My name is Rachel, I am an empathic, skilled and experienced therapist offering a warm, open and secure environment to explore your needs. It is from this open space that growth, understanding and change can flourish. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is vital to the best outcomes in therapy. Every person is different and each individual requires time and attention to explore their needs and potential.

I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.  I am an Accredited Member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also an EMDR trained Therapist. I am fully insured, and hold an up to date DBS Certificate.  Before becoming a Counsellor I held positions as a senior nurse specialising in Women and Children’s Health. I work within the ethical guidelines of the BACP.

BACP | Ethical framework for counselling professionals

I have worked privately at locations in Tenterden, Hawkhurst and Biddenden, in two General Practice GP settings in Kent and East Sussex, and at a well respected Kent Grammar school dealing with a wide range  and severity of mental health issues.

I was previously an experienced senior Nurse in Women and Children’s health. My background has given me a wealth of experience from which to draw on, including issues around fertility and IVF, miscarriage, termination of pregnancy and foetal abnormality. I am mother to two adult children, which has informed and influenced my practice in addition to formal study.

I practice and have a strong interest in Yoga and meditation which I sometimes bring into my practice.
